Very good informative article.

It is my experience too in my ward during my campaign. I felt sad because some of the Asian voters made racist comments right on my face.
I felt more homely with white voters. At least I was able to have political straight-forward dialogue with them, weather they are Labour, Lib-dem or Tory. But somehow I felt Asian political heart is frozen in time. They just don't know and they don't care to know about society and governance.
For majority of Asian voters Labour means literal dictionary meaning. I agree majority of Asian voters are Labour immigrants but a party shouldn't be associated just with its dictionary meaning. Not knowing and not caring actually makes them more isolated....
I realized majority of Asian voters have major contribution in throwing out conservative council in Ealing that has done so much good! In my own ward Asians came out in scores and voted Labour councillors even though they have never done any good. Post election some of the white voters came to me and expressed their anger for the unnecessary discrimination by Asian voters. Asians not thinking for the sake of good governance, conveys their contempt. And it not a good sign, this attitude helps no one. :-(
