It is estimated that 60% of the traditional office work can now be carried out from remote locations with the help of Internet and home based computers. But still many people just use their car, burn the fossil fuel to just get to the office to do the very same work that they could very well do from home!
Many corporates use their green initiatives to just gain marketing advantage. if they are serious then they could audit and ask all supportive staff to work from home instead of commuting to work.
Imagine out of the 1.5 billion world workforce not using cars to their regular commute. This would bring the Petrol price crashing down to earth! Only essential commuting to work must be allowed.
I am sure this solution would reduce 40% of daily petrol consumption.
